As a mom who's walked this path, I'm here to share heartfelt, simple tips for expecting parents on ensuring both your children feel equally cherished. Granted I'm still considered a newbie since my son is literally turning one year old in a few weeks, but here goes something. <br /><br /><br /><h4 style="text-align: left;">Embracing the Change and preparing your elder child for the new baby.</h4>First, involve your older child in the preparations for the new baby in a way that highlights their importance. We did this with our daughter by gifting her a new bed before our son was born. This wasn't just a furniture upgrade; it symbolized her growth and a reminder of her unique place in our family. I also took her to a few doctor's appointment where we got to see baby on the monitor and really solidify that a new person will be joining our family. <br /><h4 style="text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjliowezCliO7SwPbNGpmJQD8Q4MP5HpmVCCnhmGQSX4EePjhmUlFhWDbpgdW8ZEZaHLTBp7jqnJhCY0nWuXKQBbnd3Es47UtwTd1ViKkIg2hsuznrkYl5qWI-f_7XsAyGkcQZPW5JD_E7i94l5YQK88y6lC04r_-YQ2vt-vsN7JZbRmE9Uhoq611s5rE-f/s4745/DSC_78422024.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4745" data-original-width="3796" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjliowezCliO7SwPbNGpmJQD8Q4MP5HpmVCCnhmGQSX4EePjhmUlFhWDbpgdW8ZEZaHLTBp7jqnJhCY0nWuXKQBbnd3Es47UtwTd1ViKkIg2hsuznrkYl5qWI-f_7XsAyGkcQZPW5JD_E7i94l5YQK88y6lC04r_-YQ2vt-vsN7JZbRmE9Uhoq611s5rE-f/s16000/DSC_78422024.jpg" /></a></div>A Gift of Love: Fostering Sibling Bonds</h4>Encourage your older child to welcome the new baby with a special gift. We asked our daughter to pick out a toy for her new brother, an act that helped her feel involved and excited about the new addition, fostering affection instead of jealousy. She got to present him this gift when we brought him home from the hospital. It made me SO happy and that toy is still one of my son's favorite toy TILL this day! </div><br /><div>Watch the video of my daughter's reaction to bringing my son home. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CpDmX-wgIbI/" target="_blank">CLICK HERE</a>. <br /><br /><h4 style="text-align: left;">Maintaining the Solo Dates</h4>Life gets busier with two kids, but it’s crucial to keep the individual connections. We continue to have solo dates with our daughter. These outings might be less frequent, but they’re a time for us to focus solely on her, maintaining our bond and showing her that she’s just as important as ever. My husband will got out with her alone sometimes, I'll go out with her alone sometimes. Other times, we both go out with her alone (of course, we're blessed to have grandma be with the baby when we do this). <br /><br /><h4 style="text-align: left;">Avoiding the ‘Third Parent’ Trap</h4>While including your eldest in caring for the new baby is important, it's vital not to turn them into a third parent. Help should be voluntary, not forced. It's essential to let them be a kid, not burden them with constant caregiving responsibilities. In our home, we make sure our daughter knows her help is appreciated but not expected. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C2Ky5m6xUBt/" target="_blank">She LOVES being a big sister</a>, but I really make conscious effort not to turn her into a "second mom". </div><div><br /></div><h4 style="text-align: left;">Final Thoughts</h4><div>Remember, each family's journey is unique. What works for one might not for another, but the key is to stay connected and adapt. </div><div>If you're wondering HOW you can love another as you love your first, I am here to tell you that IT IS POSSIBLE. Your heart grows and your love and attention, divided but undiminished, will nurture a harmonious family dynamic. </div><div><br /></div><div>To all the moms/parents out there navigating this, you're doing wonderfully!</div><div><br />Thanks for reading.<br /><br /></div>Lizzy O.http://www.blogger.com/profile/08622852817653214794noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2071174095143217171.post-74533215075449139952024-01-09T09:26:00.000-08:002024-01-09T23:28:17.887-08:00Mom-Daughter Style Goals: Matching in Nike Fleece & Jordan 1 Retro High OG SneakersHello friends!<div>Today, I'm thrilled to share a special style story featuring my fabulous 5-year-old daughter and me. Having a disability puts you at a greater risk for attacks and while these tips won't guarantee full safety, I believe they can help. </p>I know that these are tips that can help EVERYONE but I need this to reach the disabled audience - especially women, hence the title.<p></p><p style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Here are some tips to keep yourself extra safe as a disabled woman in America:</span></span></p><p></p><ul style="text-align: left;"><li style="text-align: justify;">Consider carrying a personal safety device, such as a whistle or pepper spray, and know how to use it. Whenever you feel as if somebody is following you, or you just feel unsafe, USE IT. Apologies can come later if you're wrong. Your safety is FIRST.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Be cautious when using public transportation, and try to travel with a friend or family member whenever possible. Be cautious in general when you're outside alone. </li><li style="text-align: justify;">Piggybacking off the last point, make sure to keep your phone fully charged and easily accessible, and consider downloading a safety app that can alert your emergency contacts if you're in danger. Set up a favorite list on your phone. Activate voice command so that you can "talk" to your phone in case your hands are occupied or you're unable to use them.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Avoid rolling or going anywhere alone at night, and stick to well-lit areas with plenty of foot traffic.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Trust your instincts and don't be afraid to say no to people or situations that make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Is someone forcing themselves to "push you to your car" from a store? Feel free to say NO. </li><li style="text-align: justify;">Keep personal belongings safe in public areas and be alert. If you hang your backpack behind your wheelchair, ensure it has a safe lock or you bring it to your eye view when you're stagnant. You don't want a situation where someone steals your belonging behind you, or worse, put something in your bag or on your wheelchair while you were not looking.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Stay informed about crime trends and safety issues in your area, and take steps to protect yourself accordingly. Download google alerts and set up keywords. </li><li style="text-align: justify;">And finally, remember that your safety is always a top priority, and don't hesitate to reach out to friends, family, or local resources for support if you need it.</li></ul><p></p><p>I pray God keeps us all safe above all. </p><p>Feel free to share below any other tips you might have.</p><p>Thanks for reading, Till Later, God Bless.</p>Lizzy O.http://www.blogger.com/profile/08622852817653214794noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2071174095143217171.post-24774047971182534972023-06-08T13:08:00.006-07:002023-06-08T13:08:58.383-07:00How I carry my baby on the wheelchair: Tulababy Carrier Review + CouponHello world! From the challenges of breastfeeding and pumping to the need for constant hydration and energy, mothers face a unique set of demands. </p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Adjusting to Life with a Newborn and a Toddler:</h3><p>Life lately has been a whirlwind as I navigate the joys and challenges of caring for both a newborn and a toddler. Breastfeeding and pumping have been central to this journey. The importance of staying hydrated cannot be overstated when it comes to breastfeeding. Not only does proper hydration support milk production, but it also helps maintain overall well-being and energy levels.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVHbu2bitRhobMlfpZ38RDbySkRE60tI8iLMISAOENer5FtzuDHgFwQBtqn1e3RybTBEk8EUkMf3BKCsauLSxuoYoZJhqrkLQTfOfYztpZJnYRFpTZ4eTHedat-JAqthjSs-Emv2FaXlhcJp1_D33dxWiJJYKIMEpVpIw2m1lf3fQtFktfrWmu9lItng/s8256/LiquidIV%20X%20LizzyO-1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="8256" data-original-width="5504" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVHbu2bitRhobMlfpZ38RDbySkRE60tI8iLMISAOENer5FtzuDHgFwQBtqn1e3RybTBEk8EUkMf3BKCsauLSxuoYoZJhqrkLQTfOfYztpZJnYRFpTZ4eTHedat-JAqthjSs-Emv2FaXlhcJp1_D33dxWiJJYKIMEpVpIw2m1lf3fQtFktfrWmu9lItng/s16000/LiquidIV%20X%20LizzyO-1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><h3 style="text-align: left;">The Need for Hydration:</h3><p>Breastfeeding mothers often experience increased thirst due to the additional fluid requirements of milk production. It is essential to stay hydrated to avoid dehydration and its potential impact on milk supply. However, finding the time and energy to constantly drink water can be a challenge, especially with a toddler in tow. That's I started the search for an easy an effective way to get hydrated.</p><h3 style="text-align: left;">Discovering Liquid I.V.'s Mango Tamarind Energy Multiplier:</h3><p>Fortunately, I stumbled upon a solution that has revolutionized my hydration routine: Liquid I.V! I especially love their Mango Tamarind Energy Multiplier. This electrolyte drink mix not only tastes great but also provides a convenient way to stay hydrated throughout the day. With just one Energy Multiplier packet, I can hydrate faster than with water alone, making it an ideal choice for busy moms like me.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6CyVHiJ48eK6yy_oBD0yEkGC1WCYnuVL89meopBZj2pqf8ifATYMabV87GuIv0cXK07mY7JjM7MVnn3IFD9vYCoyIJBoHCtOpBzXDJul32DbU-vfkBL6Pz6V7gPGkoRWQ4FyXufGOuzFM29W99Sk2pFIIOBYXiJhd8nlOnlli1L7MBjmK9nNtgbU_nA/s6552/LiquidIV%20X%20LizzyO-10.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="6552" data-original-width="5242" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6CyVHiJ48eK6yy_oBD0yEkGC1WCYnuVL89meopBZj2pqf8ifATYMabV87GuIv0cXK07mY7JjM7MVnn3IFD9vYCoyIJBoHCtOpBzXDJul32DbU-vfkBL6Pz6V7gPGkoRWQ4FyXufGOuzFM29W99Sk2pFIIOBYXiJhd8nlOnlli1L7MBjmK9nNtgbU_nA/s16000/LiquidIV%20X%20LizzyO-10.jpg" /></a></div><p></p><p>I also noticed that with more hydration, I don't have the stress of thinking my "milk supply will dry out". Baby gets enough milk and I also get to pump when I want to. I'll go into a more details about my breastfeeding journey in another post.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2dRVeEMaucIH5Bm8npUhUgdJmA_V-RQjEQlOz2HTpWSem8Iw3yrOyT1ugbRxd7s8mOG3HOh_4U79UciyAmcA7xQ22Mk1kMKWTrPnk75jbFIp4q5SdMax2WRzh_4Pvj7ZwmhSdG-2nZzMF4yl9hk-V94k7nGX3pr23Et_2CZnBp8U3QMlvwEoFtzvQDQ/s5650/LiquidIV%20X%20LizzyO-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4520" data-original-width="5650" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2dRVeEMaucIH5Bm8npUhUgdJmA_V-RQjEQlOz2HTpWSem8Iw3yrOyT1ugbRxd7s8mOG3HOh_4U79UciyAmcA7xQ22Mk1kMKWTrPnk75jbFIp4q5SdMax2WRzh_4Pvj7ZwmhSdG-2nZzMF4yl9hk-V94k7nGX3pr23Et_2CZnBp8U3QMlvwEoFtzvQDQ/s16000/LiquidIV%20X%20LizzyO-2.jpg" /></a></div><h3 style="text-align: left;">Boosting Energy Levels:</h3><p>One of the most significant challenges of motherhood is the constant demand for energy. Balancing the needs of a newborn and a toddler requires a substantial amount of physical and mental stamina. This is where Liquid I.V.'s Energy Multiplier comes to the rescue once again. The Energy Multiplier packets offer more than just hydration. Packed with essential vitamins and minerals, they provide a sustainable energy boost that keeps me going throughout the day. Whether I'm chasing after my toddler or tending to my newborn, I can rely on Liquid I.V. to give me the extra energy I need to tackle the challenges that come my way.</p>Whether you're a breastfeeding mother or simply someone in need of an energy boost, I highly recommend giving Liquid I.V. a try. Embrace the journey of motherhood with confidence, knowing that you have the support you need to nourish yourself while caring for your little ones.<div><br /></div><div><div><div><span style="font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, Segoe UI, Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Use my discount code LIZZY20 for 20% off on <a href="http://liquid-iv.com">liquid-iv.com</a></span></span></div></div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks for reading, </div><div>Till Later, God Bless. </div></div>Lizzy O.http://www.blogger.com/profile/08622852817653214794noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2071174095143217171.post-35139759829985597292023-06-02T08:19:00.002-07:002023-06-02T08:19:29.365-07:0010 lessons since I turned 30 (and had two children)<p> Hello world! </p><p>Back at it and happy to share today's post. <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivXmYd77WUOO3p6tRNRHRacGdhRBRJLHBF73ZoxhSyqVwKJPHXSq4VoWRRPY548Ln1aqClOhmvasHD0gQ-wyD5QgdpgZhzeU9SRKfJTv6I5DQjQR__hlyOQIMU3FOl-gIkhxmLGpjrPiaskx5hh0tFTgASOwuXQdaQUHTMkEEv_CYJzV9kIRkauRSEZw/s6874/Edit_25342023.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="6874" data-original-width="5499" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivXmYd77WUOO3p6tRNRHRacGdhRBRJLHBF73ZoxhSyqVwKJPHXSq4VoWRRPY548Ln1aqClOhmvasHD0gQ-wyD5QgdpgZhzeU9SRKfJTv6I5DQjQR__hlyOQIMU3FOl-gIkhxmLGpjrPiaskx5hh0tFTgASOwuXQdaQUHTMkEEv_CYJzV9kIRkauRSEZw/s16000/Edit_25342023.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p>When I was about to turn 30, my biggest goal was to be able to say "NO" without further explanation. I'm currently 33 years old, and I think I've done a good job at that so far. NO. It's a full sentence and I stand by it especially when it comes to setting boundaries with people who always want to cross said boundaries. </p><p>Aside from being able to say No, here are a few other lessons and things I want to share. I know people typically share posts like this when it's their birthday or the beginning of a new year, but I just felt like doing this now, so here we go!</p><p></p><ol style="text-align: left;"><li>Self-acceptance: Understanding and accepting myself, including my strengths, weaknesses, and imperfections. After my car accident in 2008, I believe I've done well with self-acceptance physically, but my body continually changes (hello new baby)! Being able to love myself at every weight has definitely been a lesson! I have also started using the world "disabled" freely, without feeling as though it makes me "less than" or that it somehow means that I no longer have faith that I will someday walk again. </li><li>Prioritizing mental and physical health: Recognizing the importance of self-care, healthy habits, and managing stress. This, like many others on this list will be an ongoing lessons. Some days are better than others, but I am more aware and willing to take actions now than before. I have children now, and I want to be here as long as possible and set good examples for them. </li><li>Building meaningful relationships: Focusing on quality over quantity when it comes to friendships and relationships. Chileeeeeee! Let me tell you something! This one is actually KEY to a lot of the growth I've seen in myself since I turned 30! QUALITY OVER QUANTITY is not just a saying! This helps me show up for my friends in better ways as well. </li><li>Embracing change: Being open to new experiences, personal growth, and embracing the unexpected. One thing about having children is that <i>you've never done it before and you will be thrown some curve balls. </i>Only those who are willing to be flexible and learn on the job will survive. I thank God for the kind of husband I have because phew, he helps me through this one!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0vQqZ_Dcnj7Q6ti0LEHIxioMab3asCw9VPPO9srQ-MptzwzihvsiIGI6siaUJammSmoSMqaQXUFu8NpQif2eyjlLGQSRaXpEcfRyacMlORb1LoQmTQgPvtOQyg6-Pp_D5cLla3u6YpPAR2ROLVThAFIWwBaLO612V3d44uOP7_Z5R2cH3pyH4xl8L8g/s8256/Edit_25382023.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="8256" data-original-width="5504" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0vQqZ_Dcnj7Q6ti0LEHIxioMab3asCw9VPPO9srQ-MptzwzihvsiIGI6siaUJammSmoSMqaQXUFu8NpQif2eyjlLGQSRaXpEcfRyacMlORb1LoQmTQgPvtOQyg6-Pp_D5cLla3u6YpPAR2ROLVThAFIWwBaLO612V3d44uOP7_Z5R2cH3pyH4xl8L8g/s16000/Edit_25382023.jpg" /></a></div></li><li>Setting boundaries: Understanding the importance of setting boundaries in relationships and learning to say no when necessary. As I mentioned at the begining of this post, saying "NO" without explanation is currently my greatest flex. Of course this is not to say you should go around being rude to people, but setting boundaries will change the course and quality of your life. I am telling you, start today!</li><li>Financial responsibility: Recognizing the importance of saving, budgeting, and planning for the future. I shared this on my blog before but stepping into financial freedom has been a huge lesson this season. Check out <a href="https://www.thelizzyo.com/2020/09/financial-freedom-is-possible.html" target="_blank">THIS</a> post and <a href="https://www.thelizzyo.com/2021/02/springing-into-better-credit-score.html" target="_blank">THIS</a> one to learn more on how we were able to pay off our debts. </li><li>Career and professional growth: Assessing career goals, exploring new opportunities, and pursuing personal development. I finally stopped caring about the fact that I graduated school with a nursing degree and fully embraced my passion and career in social media influencing and content creation. The results were phenomenal. I started to accept opportunities and made changes that has now made me a full time entrepreneur who enjoys what she does and makes money doing it. Hiring people who make my job easier. Outsourcing, cutting loses etc started becoming easier. </li><li>Valuing experiences over possessions: Prioritizing experiences, travel, and creating memories over material possessions. Yes! No further explanation needed here!</li><li>Gratitude and perspective: Understanding the value of gratitude, appreciating the present moment, and gaining perspective on what truly matters in life. Family, love, health, enjoyment, stress feel life. I started to keep a gratitude journal. I use the app called <i>Presently</i>. It helps to write things down and it also gives a perspective change. Speaking of perspectives, because I now have solid people in my life and I've been able to build meaning relationships, I no longer feel the need to "be right", "look smart", "argue", "prove myself" or waste time doing things I did before. I want to hear other people's opinion, I genuinely want to accept their advice, I want them to have a different perspective than I do. Now I know it's all OKAY. You don't have to think like I do. Everything doesn't have to be perfect. </li><li>Time management: Recognizing the importance of managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks and commitments. LISTEN! My new name is "OUTSOURCING QUEEN". If <i>Get somebody else to do it </i>was a person, I would be HER! House cleaners, ordering cooked food, photographer, video editors, contractors? EVERYTHING! My time is precious, I may know how to do something, but I need somebody who can do it faster. Of course getting our finances and budgets in order also helped with this, but YES, I will move money around to be able to manage my time better! </li></ol><p></p><p>Anyhoo, if you've read this far, well done! I know that everyone's experiences and lessons can vary. Personal growth is a lifelong journey, and these lessons can continue to evolve and expand as you age.</p><p>I definitely know I will continue to grow, learn and balance some of these out. I look forward to coming back to this list in the future and seeing what has changed or what more I can add. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://liketk.it/4apIZ" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">SHOP MY LOOK HERE</span></a></p><p style="text-align: center;">Thanks for reading, till later!</p><p><br /></p>Lizzy O.http://www.blogger.com/profile/08622852817653214794noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2071174095143217171.post-56429358131141965412023-01-09T06:11:00.027-08:002023-05-18T13:09:56.012-07:00Announcement: Pregnant Again with Spinal Cord Injury<p></p> Oh my! Save this, share, and comment if you have extra tips below.</div><p>We <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CQUnHgxgubG/" target="_blank">traveled recently with Zuri</a> and while this wasn't her first time flying, it was the first time we traveled with her since covid took over the world, and also the first time she had to pay as a passenger (tears) lol. Hey listen, those free flights were nice when she was under 2 years old.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFl2yIDrTgogOGmXpY8laADSrkhJ6atS9EcaY1c9VfZ4ZSJkoU3xGx9otDdRSWAVC-bPV7QMoUVvkQJ36DZ1Pm8KYnPZP0b1xEt4klHQSg_95S55v0QowZxSPOfAHOMMbF-tAubjMaaoxU/s2048/travel-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1638" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFl2yIDrTgogOGmXpY8laADSrkhJ6atS9EcaY1c9VfZ4ZSJkoU3xGx9otDdRSWAVC-bPV7QMoUVvkQJ36DZ1Pm8KYnPZP0b1xEt4klHQSg_95S55v0QowZxSPOfAHOMMbF-tAubjMaaoxU/s16000/travel-3.jpg" /></a></div></div><p><b>1. EDUCATE/INFORM. </b>The morning of our travel, I told Zuri about where we were going. To the airport, then to surprise grandma and grandpa and uncles. Try to walk them through what to expect briefly. I told Zuri we have to to sit down quietly when the plane is up up in the air and how we would see the clouds. If you'll be staying with family or in a hotel, tell them what to expect. Don't start educating days or weeks before (except you don't mind your toddler asking you about the plane 265 times per day) 😂</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3f3DuXtNkzxVsfFhsDTe27iPRFGpzVnkNtIySlw5qBHFJW7jCXrNWLura5ECVdGMgeY28HTlS9LneM3rPKpaq9tokhHzH9SB9bzTtVTK45E9VGlgciFPsN2S1qCzYChkxS-_Irwsgn7-Y/s2048/travel-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1365" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3f3DuXtNkzxVsfFhsDTe27iPRFGpzVnkNtIySlw5qBHFJW7jCXrNWLura5ECVdGMgeY28HTlS9LneM3rPKpaq9tokhHzH9SB9bzTtVTK45E9VGlgciFPsN2S1qCzYChkxS-_Irwsgn7-Y/s16000/travel-1.jpg" /></a><p></p><p><b>2. ENTERTAIN. </b>Pack their favorite toy/tablet/books etc. We grabbed Zuri's tablet. And it entertained her during the times when we had to wait and in the plane.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBTk2sNba0jfDZg0ZQTplfMlRDZThdupw7HD8DLecfZ_8ISJungvF0NIN4C0kgCJwfNYU0d9_oA_toyirXPg06LTUJtNS74XSJwNSBPM2c5mMVzqT6JWqLbiqvAJs7pNr3CCgbr2FOkO5Z/s2048/travel-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1365" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBTk2sNba0jfDZg0ZQTplfMlRDZThdupw7HD8DLecfZ_8ISJungvF0NIN4C0kgCJwfNYU0d9_oA_toyirXPg06LTUJtNS74XSJwNSBPM2c5mMVzqT6JWqLbiqvAJs7pNr3CCgbr2FOkO5Z/s16000/travel-4.jpg" /></a></div><p></p><p><b>3. SNACKS/FOOD. </b>Did you know that you can carry-on home cooked meals and snacks? You don't have to buy expensive snacks at the airport! Liquids/yogurts and a few things won't be allowed, but you can bring food or snacks your kids love as this would give them comfort. Plane snacks are awesome too. We flew with delta Airlines and Zuri loved the cookies and orange juice.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhipyV27gRGwJmNSowFM_cHWlrCQZTHY6rrCd4iUB8BQFUvwuuHdQQ2OIMAajKGSqxh0T96iWZHyLkDCV6zL_zGcFZrVa_4VlT60nZ2imGp8RUOHjRLKtrwFMvy9OJpbHuyqgtiBBcYuwHq/s2048/travel-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1639" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhipyV27gRGwJmNSowFM_cHWlrCQZTHY6rrCd4iUB8BQFUvwuuHdQQ2OIMAajKGSqxh0T96iWZHyLkDCV6zL_zGcFZrVa_4VlT60nZ2imGp8RUOHjRLKtrwFMvy9OJpbHuyqgtiBBcYuwHq/s16000/travel-5.jpg" /></a></div><p></p><p><b>4. PREPARE YOURSELF.</b> You can do everything right but still have moments you just didn't prepare for, so it's best to prepare yourself mentally. Being frustrated or thinking that everybody is watching "how you parent" is a no-no.</p><p><b></b></p><blockquote><p><b>With the current climate, pack your sanitizing wipes, masks, and everything you need to feel safe.</b></p><p></p></blockquote><p>Note: Toddlers will ask questions and try to explore. Give them just enough freedom to walk, carry a bag, push the stroller, point to things and be ok with them wanting to say hi to everybody. Every child we saw at the airport and in the plane all said hi to us... And Zuri did the same to others. Some ignored her but most were so sweet.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgIyYjY05p3EA8RD7aGcftAFaDiM6MsF26Vj53m3iVIpRIHYNZsAcycfyisoMW8rk1E4vv6P7xPf5vhAkoSNk6pl_LjRF6Qw-NZMlOa-0NEHfsso4URx3xJfgnL1mSsf9EVh7V6QCryv5O/s2048/travel-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1365" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgIyYjY05p3EA8RD7aGcftAFaDiM6MsF26Vj53m3iVIpRIHYNZsAcycfyisoMW8rk1E4vv6P7xPf5vhAkoSNk6pl_LjRF6Qw-NZMlOa-0NEHfsso4URx3xJfgnL1mSsf9EVh7V6QCryv5O/s16000/travel-2.jpg" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>Have more tips? Just like that it's the month of March y'all! I am honestly in awe at the pace this year is taking but I can't even complain about it because we're still in a pandemonium <i><span style="font-size: x-small;">(joke)</span></i> and I am grateful for life. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">As it is customary for every new month, I found myself reflecting and I want to make it a note to share more impactful posts here. At the beginning of this year, I said my word for the year was <i style="font-weight: bold;">IMPACT</i> and I have taken it upon myself to be actively impactful in every area of my life. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div><i><b><span style="font-size: x-small;">This post is for EVERYONE, but I had to be specific in relations to disability for obvious reasons.</span></b></i></div><div><br /></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQdmmh-fy0UByfPg827DoOSaJyc59YQO3VllgVS8w7V5Sv1cDAuZEKsb-4B31ge_TJKtr7CBQjsXRSGUl5vhlk7MfEaeXkiAYc2Y0ZPC34UIowpclEGNVYem6lPQOFX4XDVVbqzCogLbrV/s2048/brown+skin+Lizzy-2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1639" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQdmmh-fy0UByfPg827DoOSaJyc59YQO3VllgVS8w7V5Sv1cDAuZEKsb-4B31ge_TJKtr7CBQjsXRSGUl5vhlk7MfEaeXkiAYc2Y0ZPC34UIowpclEGNVYem6lPQOFX4XDVVbqzCogLbrV/s16000/brown+skin+Lizzy-2.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;">I oftentimes hear people say that I am an inspiration, motivational or a few other variations of those words - mainly because I am disabled and I've chosen to live my life to the fullest. While I don't think that makes me an <i>hero</i> or instantaneously an inspiration<i>, </i>I finally understand why others might choose to call me <b><i>inspirational</i></b>. I believe it stems from most people thinking that they can't possible still be "happy" or confident if they were to become disabled. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">So, yes... I get it. HOWEVER,<i> </i>I like to tell people that it didn't all happen in one day and I still have days when I have to remind myself who the heck I am. Building my confidence as a PERSON has taken years of practice and it's a continuous self development exercise. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><u><span style="font-size: large;">Here are some tips for building your confidence with a disability.</span></u></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>1. Write down things you love about yourself</i></b>: What are the things you love about yourself? What are somethings people have said they love about you? Write these things down and read them until they are stuck in your head. Read these daily and make it a point to go back to read them especially when you're not feeling your best. Building confidence depends heavily on knowing who you are and constantly gassing yourself up. Do not be fake humble or tear yourself down. I shared this caption on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CLpK7TBFQsA/" target="_blank">an instagram post</a> the other day: <i><blockquote>You know that thing you do where you tear yourself down before others get the chance do it... Yeah, stop doing that. Be kind to yourself. Deal?</blockquote></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i style="font-weight: bold;">2. Make a to-do list:</i> The feeling of accomplishment is a mood booster. Before you go to bed every night, write down 6 things or less that you want to accomplish the next day. Things that you can work towards and check off at the end of the day. Do this everyday and you start to develop the attitude that you are capable of accomplishing tasks no matter how little (or big) that they are. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i style="font-weight: bold;">3. Stay firm in your decisions:</i> It's not cute to say "I'm indecisive", It's not cute to be the person who "just doesn't know how to say No". Begin to cultivate the habit of being firm in your decisions, sitting up for yourself (wheelchair joke - I really mean standing up for yourself), and using NO as a full sentence. You don't always have to justify why you say no. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i style="font-weight: bold;">4. Take one step at a time: </i> Confidence is a journey. You get better daily as long as you don't give up. Think long term. Know who you are and do not let others impose their version of who they think you are on you! You are special, you are amazing. You have so much to give to the world and you should not LET anybody change your knowledge about who you are.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJXXZYHyKXezuxljZVpp4xQ_eEoD4F2zUa87Qn1CsGsU8dbFMdThDgcTNajv9G5jP1hLkKkPL3T8cLBGrjLgV-WlOamQDgZYynf8u5knIOyeJPW29WXq89DVw8QZC38T3lH4AMFJ8n18jJ/s2048/brown+skin+Lizzy-1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1639" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJXXZYHyKXezuxljZVpp4xQ_eEoD4F2zUa87Qn1CsGsU8dbFMdThDgcTNajv9G5jP1hLkKkPL3T8cLBGrjLgV-WlOamQDgZYynf8u5knIOyeJPW29WXq89DVw8QZC38T3lH4AMFJ8n18jJ/s16000/brown+skin+Lizzy-1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I am keeping this short so as not to make it overwhelming. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I believe that these tips are great for anyone to begin their journey towards building confidence (with or without a disability). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">That's it for now y'all. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Thanks for reading</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Till Later, God bless. </div><p></p>Lizzy O.http://www.blogger.com/profile/08622852817653214794noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2071174095143217171.post-57732742949984938152021-02-09T09:10:00.002-08:002021-02-09T09:10:20.261-08:00Springing into a better credit score <p style="text-align: center;"><i>Thank you <a href="https://clvr.li/CRW2" target="_blank">CreditRepair.com</a> for sponsoring this post. <a href="https://clvr.li/CRW2" target="_blank">CreditRepair.com</a>’s team understands that a credit score is not just a number; it's a lifestyle.</i></p><p style="text-align: center;">Hello world! </p><p style="text-align: center;">I’m back again today to talk about finance and most importantly your credit score. You’ve heard about spring cleaning, you know making your home new for a new season and so much more, but how are you doing with cleaning up your finances and ensuring you have a great credit score? </p><p style="text-align: center;">A few months ago, I shared that I was working with the professionals at <a href="http://CreditRepair.com" target="_blank">CreditRepair.com</a> to get my credit score up and also because I started my journey towards financial freedom. I wanted to learn what parts of my credit history were hurting my score and how I could fix them. </p><p style="text-align: center;">In case you missed that post, check it out <a href="https://www.thelizzyo.com/2020/09/financial-freedom-is-possible.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. I talked about how financial freedom is possible and also how my husband and I paid off over $24,000 in credit card debt. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNm-z1H2v_bSZ7Y9X3eY9SjPzzM5YMdmZfKkyl9K-MzaKRRk96EnCyOkxz-NT7fgbGFVFgDx1k2-QlW03BeHfoeULwXGppOTs7oWbTqeQ0KLolGLKF_IV-KdeTUXBsE8HIeekiavzHKIP0/s2048/credit+repair-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1639" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNm-z1H2v_bSZ7Y9X3eY9SjPzzM5YMdmZfKkyl9K-MzaKRRk96EnCyOkxz-NT7fgbGFVFgDx1k2-QlW03BeHfoeULwXGppOTs7oWbTqeQ0KLolGLKF_IV-KdeTUXBsE8HIeekiavzHKIP0/s16000/credit+repair-1.jpg" /></a></div><p style="text-align: center;">It has been an interesting journey and I personally have learned a lot from when we decided that we were going to take our finances seriously, create a budget and ensure our credit scores no longer suffered because of past mistakes and debts. </p><p style="text-align: center;">We have family goals and we know that our credit won’t fix itself. So I took the step to get help from <a href=" https://clvr.li/CRW2" target="_blank">CreditRepair.com</a>. You can do the same too today with a free consultation and kickstart your credit repair efforts.</p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiZ92JWT4ZYWDX7Las17uMbrctpC0lzI0_gfVzE3SnDXqPojdMk9NFOYz_ZicguzwHw8MxuQsV_6s2T7Q1ITFy6r5keLtiN5XLaz_fuJehtykhic6V3JqJvX19o-aBs6LB5OVRjAUaC3r8/s2048/credit+repair-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1638" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiZ92JWT4ZYWDX7Las17uMbrctpC0lzI0_gfVzE3SnDXqPojdMk9NFOYz_ZicguzwHw8MxuQsV_6s2T7Q1ITFy6r5keLtiN5XLaz_fuJehtykhic6V3JqJvX19o-aBs6LB5OVRjAUaC3r8/s16000/credit+repair-2.jpg" /></a></div><p></p><p style="text-align: center;">From the last post till now, I am glad to report that I feel closer to my goal of total financial freedom and have seen an increase in my credit score. Being able to send out challenges from past delinquencies on CreditRepair.com and creating a game plan with professionals has helped me feel more confident. They send out challenges for you as you set up your account, and when there are things you don’t recognize on your account, you can take immediate action towards resolving them. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I also got tips about how to handle my credit card balance. Knowing when to pay off my credit card, learning how my balances affect my credit score and navigating their very user friendly website to remain aware of all that is going on with my account. I also saw which of my opened credit cards was helping my credit score and which one was harming my credit score. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUzIHrwqwm7Tzo4KgjIMU6vf5LolxGZVaUv5mpOlONEVMSx9Q71lUVsTtdcGrslRtneLZWBGF9BgFYlfThuLGJDfhEJiK9MibgQLH-Ocn3mkGc3vnTuQpnxu7pF1cuURYbK3_JIaiVB400/s2048/credit+repair-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1638" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUzIHrwqwm7Tzo4KgjIMU6vf5LolxGZVaUv5mpOlONEVMSx9Q71lUVsTtdcGrslRtneLZWBGF9BgFYlfThuLGJDfhEJiK9MibgQLH-Ocn3mkGc3vnTuQpnxu7pF1cuURYbK3_JIaiVB400/s16000/credit+repair-3.jpg" /></a></p><p style="text-align: center;">A few weeks ago, I tried to open an account and creditrepair.com sent me an alert to notify me (just in case I wasn’t the one doing it). No really, sis came out with a head full of hair (just like I prayed for), but what I didn't know was that I also needed to pray for the strength to maintain it. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I have made a few posts and even posted youtube videos in the past about Zuri's hair care, but I figured now that we have a very straightforward and consistent routine, a new post is needed. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLONKZ5_0g3PErwwiYGc-pdgISHILG4M6mSFReMH8fPHJupRutOURzPxDjki2SMypyj-rsx3nS_3FXHxwqu9O8-BsqT39k0C_a9uxbOm7EaYuZSvaXdJ0H3GJ-4_ceWR6Y0we8DpNsImlr/s2048/Zuri+Is+Two+%252856%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1365" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLONKZ5_0g3PErwwiYGc-pdgISHILG4M6mSFReMH8fPHJupRutOURzPxDjki2SMypyj-rsx3nS_3FXHxwqu9O8-BsqT39k0C_a9uxbOm7EaYuZSvaXdJ0H3GJ-4_ceWR6Y0we8DpNsImlr/s16000/Zuri+Is+Two+%252856%2529.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'll keep things very short and provide links for easy access, but if you're unable to shop the links I provide, a simple google search or checking at your local beauty supply store or big stores should help you find them. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-size: large;"><u>SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONING</u></span></b></div></div><p style="text-align: center;"><b>For shampoo</b> - I use the <a href="https://amzn.to/2Ky1XF2" target="_blank">Cetaphil baby shampoo</a>. I started using this when I noticed some dandruff in Zuri's hair when she was a baby and I've stuck to it because it really cleanses her hair and leaves her scalp feeling clean. I also notice that when washing her hair (if a little bit of lather trickles down her face, it seems to not burn her eyes). Of course, I also have <b><a href="https://amzn.to/34xNTCD" target="_blank">this face protector</a></b> that I use occasionally when washing her hair, and it does a great job. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b>For conditioner</b> - I use <a href="https://amzn.to/2KnIJ4J" target="_blank">Tressemme conditioners</a>. LISTEN TO ME Y'ALL, this conditioner is AMAZING. I use it for my hair, my wigs, and now Zuri's hair. It will have your hair feeling soft and easy to comb. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Speaking of combining, I make sure to comb Zuri's hair while it's wet and mostly when I am conditioning it. Then I put it in a quick and simple style before we're ready to fully do her hair. I try not to leave her hair in it's "fro" state after washing because it most likely will shrink back into itself and be hard to style when you're ready. </p><p style="text-align: center;">My go to quick styles immediately after washing are 2 cornrows down to the side or 4 three strands braids right after washing. Once again, I encourage you to put the hair in a quick braid style while it dries. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWzQhu25vPJs5NDdAFMT7804Qw3S7jGfLQ6ow3CsagW9k724_k1T2NRul94QqvhHfWpcxPBbPcyCQalnmXybXColdAzbGmqu_70PQIP-P14gySefShToUdxKllWGRbFgKIxlL4gIAEYGYM/s2048/Zuri+Is+Two+%252855%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1365" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWzQhu25vPJs5NDdAFMT7804Qw3S7jGfLQ6ow3CsagW9k724_k1T2NRul94QqvhHfWpcxPBbPcyCQalnmXybXColdAzbGmqu_70PQIP-P14gySefShToUdxKllWGRbFgKIxlL4gIAEYGYM/w427-h640/Zuri+Is+Two+%252855%2529.jpg" width="427" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>STYLING PRODUCTS</u></b></span></div><p style="text-align: center;">When it comes to products I use to style her hair, I like to keep things very simple. I don't like to cause product build up in her hair because that tends to cause itching. Speaking of itching, please allow your children's hair to dry before styling, and if you must wet their hair during styling, try not to use too much water and avoid the scalp if possible. </p><p style="text-align: center;"></p><ul><li style="text-align: justify;">Edge control product: I have a few I love, but my current holy grail is <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0849TRPD1?ref=exp_thelizzyo_dp_vv_d" target="_blank">TruEDGE Controller Extreme Hold Water-Based Pomade in Acacia</a>. As the name states, this is water based, it LAYS the edges but doesn't leave any flakes or white residue. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align: justify;">I also now use <a href="https://amzn.to/3bTpPgs" target="_blank">got2b glue</a> for her edges if I really want the strongest hold. Just on her edges but I make sure to rinse off the product from her edges at the end of the night.</li></ul><ul><li style="text-align: justify;">When I have to do braids or twists, I ALWAYS use the <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LB79R9Z?ref=exp_thelizzyo_dp_vv_d" target="_blank">Shine and Jam conditioning gel</a>. I saturate the hair with it and comb it before braiding or twisting. This makes all the difference in the outcome of my braids or twist. I also use this when I want to put her hair up in a sleek up do. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align: justify;">Gel I love and recommend: The only gel I use on her hair (when applicable) is <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08572DTS6?ref=exp_thelizzyo_dp_vv_d" target="_blank">Wetline Xtreme Gel</a>. It works also for curl definition and gives a good hold. This can cause product build up if you use too much. It also works for edges. </li></ul><ul><li style="text-align: justify;">For maintenance and shine, I go old school and use the <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GMP0A2A?ref=exp_thelizzyo_dp_vv_d" target="_blank">Blue Magic Coconut Hair Oil</a> if need be. </li></ul><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b style="font-size: x-large;"><u><br /></u></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b style="font-size: x-large;"><u>STYLING TIPS</u></b></div><p></p><p style="text-align: center;">I personally love doing my daughter's hair especially because I prayed for this and I like learning how to perfect my craft with the different styles I do on her. I didn't start out being "good" at braiding, but with consistent and constant practice, I have gotten better. Youtube videos help as well.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I am also very blessed because she sits down to let me do her hair without fuss - thanks to TV and snacks. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><i>Since, I'm here, I have to address this in details. One of the most popular questions I get asked my people who have a hard time doing hair for their kids is, <b>"how does she sit still"? </b></i></p><p style="text-align: center;">I can't lie to you, Zuri has always sat still to do her hair from day one. I think this is because </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b>1. </b>She's not in pain. I really try to be as soft handed as possible. I make sure to brush her hair in sections, with a <a href="https://amzn.to/37nZDck" target="_blank"><b>big hair brush</b></a>, or <a href="https://amzn.to/2LBkvo9" target="_blank"><b>wide tooth combs</b></a>. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b>2.</b> She's distracted. TV and snacks will go a long way. Check out my <a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpr2IDj1O-UFcKNmxC2-bczf1_w5AIcIi" target="_blank">babies and toddler playlist on youtube HERE</a></p><p style="text-align: center;"><b>3.</b> I listen to her. Doing her hair is not a do or die affair. We take breaks when I see that the style I'm doing is going on for longer than she's able to sit for. I will stop to continue the next day if need be (but this rarely happens because I don't do complicated styles). I let her walk around a little bit and then come back to continue the hair.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><b>4.</b> I watch videos of kids getting their hair done on youtube with her. Not all the time, but sometimes</p><p style="text-align: center;"><b>5.</b> Keep things simple at a young age. There's really no reason to do complicated hairstyles for your kids at their young age. It takes longer and puts tension on their hair. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>FAQs</u></b></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>How often do I wash her hair:</i></b> Before she turned two, Once a week (every Saturday). Now that she's two, we go 2 weeks or a little over. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Baby won't sit still and cries:</i></b> Feed baby, give them snacks, play their favorite shows, or do their hair when they're sleeping. ULTIMATELY, hair at this tender age shouldn't be a do-or-die affair. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Baby's hair is hard to comb:</i></b> Comb while wet, use tresemme conditioner and comb while conditioner is in hair before rinsing out </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Baby's hair is dry:</i></b> Blue magic baby conditioner or shine and jam mentioned above. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Baby has dandruff:</i></b> Cetaphil baby shampoo and if it's severe, talk to pediatrician</p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>I've done everything but my baby's hair isn't growing:</i></b> Patience, patience patience. It's also mainly genetics sooooooooo leave that baby alone. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Baby has no edges:</i></b> Be careful not to put too much tension on edges when styling. Avoid tight headbands as those tend to cause tension on edges and thereby makes baby lose hair around the area. I know it's almost impossible not to want to put those cute bands on your babies, but make sure they're not tight and you don't use them too often. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Baby's hair is breaking: </i></b>This mainly has to do with moisturizing and conditioning. Almost all the products I listed and use for my daughters hair has moisturizing effects. Do you also moisturize rubber bands before using them on hair? Also does your child actually drink enough water? THIS is important as well. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Additionally, I want to share some pages I personally LOVE on instagram that showcases hairstyles I would like to try on Zuri as she gets older. </i></b></p><p style="text-align: center;">1. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/novemberlov3/" target="_blank">Novemberlov3</a> </p><p style="text-align: center;">2. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/heybambino_/" target="_blank">HeyBambino_</a></p><p style="text-align: center;">3. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/hairfetishllc/" target="_blank">HairFetishLLC</a></p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">Well, that's it for this post. This season, a lot of people are announcing pregnancies, and if you’re one of those people - first of all, CONGRATULATIONS! Secondly, I would highly recommend creating an Amazon Baby Registry.</div><div style="text-align: center;">One of my favorite parts of pregnancy was creating our Baby Registry on Amazon.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">When we found out we were pregnant, I immediately went on the search for baby gadgets and things to use that would help me be the best functional mom there could be for my baby. As you guys know, I make use of a wheelchair for daily living due to spinal cord injury. Mainly with background sounds and a little bit of reading till she was about 6 months old when I introduced her to videos and a few apps. I have always been of the notion that I will allow screen time as long as it's educational, monitored and for an allocated time during the day. Every parent wants the best for their children, so I was determined to try variety of apps, and go through countless numbers of videos on youtube till I found the ones that "made sense" and kept Zuri engaged. Initially I didn't see the "results", but over time I can testify that these things work and I am here to share them with you for FREE. </p><p style="text-align: center;">In today's post, I will be listing some of the apps and videos I've used (and still use) for Zuri and I hope they help your kids too. Please leave a comment below if any of my recommendations help you. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Plus, please bookmark this post because I plan to update it as she grows. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVnX7l9BsSKi-57Jcz1ez2J8tRrm9l0e1uiKAVTJPiRYGu6NNgrVBWAMheJt1cETOwWa3QqYYa1mDXyE8OSo-eorZKtdpPs9SpYbYPj19NE-1MHBjPejjmN54NlIpYRSXE4hb849ekjxXP/s1920/Snapshot_59.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1920" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVnX7l9BsSKi-57Jcz1ez2J8tRrm9l0e1uiKAVTJPiRYGu6NNgrVBWAMheJt1cETOwWa3QqYYa1mDXyE8OSo-eorZKtdpPs9SpYbYPj19NE-1MHBjPejjmN54NlIpYRSXE4hb849ekjxXP/s16000/Snapshot_59.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;">First on the list is <a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpr2IDj1O-UFcKNmxC2-bczf1_w5AIcIi" target="_blank"><b>THIS PLAYLIST</b></a> I created on my youtube channel. We love all the videos on this list and I continue to update the playlist as we discover more things. Alphabets, to shapes, colors and lots more. I like that she can be entertained while also learning by watching these videos. </p><p style="text-align: center;">I also posted <a href="https://youtu.be/khNnox0ZG8Y" target="_blank"><b>THIS VIDEO</b></a> on my youtube channel showing Zuri using a few educational apps. These apps not only help with motor skills and coordination, but they are also a way to test her knowledge on the things she watches in the videos I listed above. The apps I mentioned in that video are: <b><a href="https://www.vooks.com/parent-resources/?utm_source=thelizzyo" target="_blank">Vooks</a>, <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rvappstudios.shapes.colors.toddler" target="_blank">Shapes and Colors</a></b> (I also love every other app from the company that create this),<b> <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=abc.kids.edu.pro" target="_blank">ABC Flashcard Pro</a>, <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jg.spongeminds.preschooldemo" target="_blank">Preschool</a>, and <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teachersparadise.numberscountingcards" target="_blank">Numbers counting cards</a>. </b></p><p style="text-align: center;">I also use the <a href="https://learnwithhomer.com/thelizzyo" target="_blank"><b>HOMER learning app</b></a> and I have completely seen how all of these tools combined with reading physical books when we can help with Zuri's learning and comprehension.</p><p style="text-align: center;">It pays to get the 'ad-free' version of some of these apps, but you can try the free versions first. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><b>Some additional things I want to share when it comes to babies and toddler learning are as follows:</b></p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>- </i></b><i><b>No mindless learning.</b></i> Try to engage with the kids as they're watching videos or using the apps. Ask questions, answer questions and ask them to repeat after you (or the video)</p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><i>- No learning as punishment or reward. </i></b>Learning time should be fun and be understood as learning time. Don't use tablet/phones/apps/or videos as punishment or reward for the kids. Again, try to engage with the kids as they learn. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><i style="font-weight: bold;">- Repetition is key</i>. You might think you need to move on to the next things so as not to bore the kids, but that is actually not necessary. Repetition helps to cement things in the kids brain. If they can watch "baby shark doodoodoo" 100 times and not get tired, they most certainly can watch the alphabet song 500 times. That was how I got Zuri to finally learn the days of the week and months of the year. Repeat the videos over and over again. However...</p><p style="text-align: center;"><i><b>- Switch things up.</b></i> Yes, I know I just said repetition is great for learning, but I like to switch things up after a while. Apps today, videos tomorrow, physical books the next day. It could still be the same topic - like colors, but switching up the method of learning usually helps too. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><i style="font-weight: bold;">- Review afterwards.</i> This basically means bringing up what the child saw in the video or apps after they're done with it. For example when Zuri started learning about shapes, I would randomly remind her about the videos she watched or apps she used by pointing to objects around the house and ask her what shape those objects are. She got REALLY excited to connect the things she learned with her everyday life and surroundings. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Overall, have fun with the learning process. No knowledge gained is a waste. The kids are learning everything you expose them to. It may look to you like they're not learning anything, but keep going. One day the switch will turn on and you'll be AMAZED at how much they've picked up by being exposed to all the resources above. </p><p style="text-align: center;">While I will continue to advocate for physical books and practical learning, I just have to say I see so much benefit in all that digital learning and apps have helped us to achieve.</p><p style="text-align: center;">I basically home-school Zuri since she's never been to daycare or any classroom, and everything she knows is because of all of the resources I use with her. Apps, videos, books, and even educational toys from amazon like I listed <a href="https://www.amazon.com/shop/thelizzyo?listId=1XTGJ3YBUB1AV&ref=cm_sw_em_r_inf_list_pub_thelizzyo_dp_xzASryxFHYaff" target="_blank">HERE</a>. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments below.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Thanks for visiting, till later. </p><p style="text-align: center;">God bless. </p>Lizzy O.http://www.blogger.com/profile/08622852817653214794noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2071174095143217171.post-30414894979344809502020-10-15T09:12:00.003-07:002020-10-15T09:12:52.131-07:00Importance of a good bed sheet set<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hello world!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Mommy and Zuri here today. These days I have been doing my best to prioritize sleep. Being a mom and a self-employed entrepreneur I had to make time for adequate sleep so that I can be my best self all around. To get good rest, a good bed sheet set is essential. Cue in <a href="www.sijohome.com" target="_blank">Sijo Home</a> Eucalyptus bedsheets and duvet cover. It is a cooling, comfortable, and antimicrobial material which makes it perfect for warm weather, or warm sleepers year round! We have the blush (pale pink) color and it looks amazing in our guest room. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It's lightweight, gentle and soft on the skin, reducing pull that creates wrinkles or harms the cuticle of the hair. We have the Blush (pale pink) set and duvet cover and I just love how it looks and feels on the body. Can somebody say luxurious?! A lot has been going on with the world lately and while it seems as if we can’t seem to keep a hold on everything around us, one thing I still do to ensure I am at my best is self-care! Taking care of myself, my body, my mind, my lips - yes I said lips, certainly helps me to feel like I have a grasp on something and everything isn’t actually falling apart. </div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">With the winter months ahead of us, I don’t want to deal with painful dry lips and I am happy to have <a href="https://actv.at/8V5/" target="_blank">Vaseline Lip Therapy Stick</a>. “How are you so Confident Lizzy”? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The answer is quite simple. Confidence is developed when a person has a full sense of being and has reached the mindset where circumstances they can’t control no longer affect them. One of those confidence shattering circumstances is incontinence/bladder leakage and <a href="https://actv.at/8zY/" target="_blank">Depend Brand Silhouette Underwear</a> is here to help. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdhe4odKO7fRgNCBhBh2rCYV4cqvEbqXPxilOt3vk79R3NEOdn_9RA0wOIOqVhRzA51HHOztUlPknv-Lx9oc22tmAknWnMcojG1gWQudAm07hHZJs8bp2M2mkntvc81ugQ9hcL78PyYd20/s1600/DependBrand+Silhouette++%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdhe4odKO7fRgNCBhBh2rCYV4cqvEbqXPxilOt3vk79R3NEOdn_9RA0wOIOqVhRzA51HHOztUlPknv-Lx9oc22tmAknWnMcojG1gWQudAm07hHZJs8bp2M2mkntvc81ugQ9hcL78PyYd20/s1600/DependBrand+Silhouette++%25281%2529.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have shared many times how living with spinal cord injury comes with so many challenges that test my confidence on a daily basis and one of those challenges is incontinence. Many people aren’t comfortable talking about it; however, nearly 65 million Americans experience bladder leakage in one form or another, according to data from Kimberly-Clark. Therefore, it’s important that people talk about it and the solutions that are available. Whether it's from uncontrollable laughter, pregnancy or a debilitating injury, you should know that you're not alone and it is possible to feel comfortable and protected with the right product such as Depend Brand Silhouette Underwear. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The new Depend Silhouette Underwear is available at your local <a href="https://actv.at/8zY/" target="_blank">CVSPharmacy</a> and it comes in different sizes that allow an authentic underwear experience for different body types while delivering the trusted super absorbent protection of the Depend brand for 100% leak free protection. With advanced Shapewear Technology, Depend has created their smoothest and softest fabric to-date which has a pad that stays closer to the body and a smooth underwear design for invisible comfort & protection. I also love that It is available in a variety of colors to give you that underwear feeling. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Also, a pro tip for my ladies out there - this stuff is the truth during “that time of the month” and right after childbirth. You can’t even tell that I’m wearing it, so why should I bother myself with thoughts that could break down my confidence? I love that the Depend brand is committed to providing people (both men and women) solutions that empower and give them confidence.</div>

Till Later, God Bless. </div>

<i>Thank you <a href="http://clvr.li/CRinfo" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">CreditRepair.com</a> for sponsoring this post. CreditRepair.com’s team understands that a credit score is not just a number; it's a lifestyle.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Why is it so hard to talk about money? I’m not sure if it’s my upbringing or just society, but money talk has always been hush-hush for me until the end of last year when I decided that enough was enough and financial literacy and freedom was IMPORTANT, especially in a country where one’s credit score is a big deal. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As the title of this blog post indicates, financial freedom is possible. I am coming real with y’all today! I’m throwing all caution to the wind because I am finally at the point where I can boldly say that I am credit card debt-free. From the beginning of this year to now, my husband and I got serious about money talk and our goal was to pay off all credit card debt (totaling over $24,000). Yes, I put a number to this because I need you to know the seriousness of this topic. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMtY6QwRoKWkMt3Lj-t5guo8BkQQzTN__4_Bvj6YMRV0yO0dk1mZo6oTcJXi3GHqEopqZLaLnXgZLzMFPOH9yyWolVpco7OwL8mTsBUB_4zTA9uRudUsrgsp9e9kkLKvmjMaTkkc-ShoC4/s1600/creditrepair.com+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMtY6QwRoKWkMt3Lj-t5guo8BkQQzTN__4_Bvj6YMRV0yO0dk1mZo6oTcJXi3GHqEopqZLaLnXgZLzMFPOH9yyWolVpco7OwL8mTsBUB_4zTA9uRudUsrgsp9e9kkLKvmjMaTkkc-ShoC4/s1600/creditrepair.com+%25281%2529.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My husband came into our marriage with no school loans and no significant debt, but ME? Sis was rolling in all sorts of mess. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was so angry and had no plans for being debt free because the majority of my debt was caused by medical bills, emergency spending, school loans, and living life with disability. I felt like it was “unfair” that I had to pay back! I wasn’t buying purses and shoes, I wasn’t living above my means, sooo, I was just angry and uninterested in repayment! I can’t even begin to share how unserious I was with my credit score, school loan repayments, and credit card debt. My friends can testify to how I would say “I wasn’t in debt because I had school loans and necessary debt”. I even thought that as long as I had “good savings and cash”, my credit score and debt were irrelevant. I believed these lies I told myself for so long and said I would deal with the debt once life became fair and I got heavily rich! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was a big mistake because things just kept getting worse with interest accumulating and me not knowing where to begin, but I knew I needed a long-lasting lifestyle change that could provide access to my financial dreams. Enough was enough. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Whether your story is similar to mine, or if bad decisions led you to where you are, I want to tell you that you can start now to fix things. If you’re looking for help in starting off your credit repair journey or if you plan to pay off debt, I recommend <a href="https://clvr.li/CRSnapshot1" target="_blank">CreditRepair.com</a>. They are trusted leaders in credit repair with over 500,000 clients served.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://clvr.li/CRSnapshot1" target="_blank">CreditRepair.com</a> is a leading provider of credit report repair services in the United States. They are a team of credit professionals who educate and empower individuals to achieve the credit scores they deserve, and they offer a free consultation that can help you kick-start your credit repair efforts. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I always prided myself on being literate and knowledgeable to an extent about finances, but I got MORE serious about it all at the end of last year (2019). Before I got married, I thought I was keeping up with debt and loan repayments to the best of my ability, but clearly my best wasn’t enough because my personal debt became a family debt and things just didn’t seem to get better. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I knew change was coming when my husband and I started the year with a realistic budget, goals, and concrete plans to do better. We cut off so many things from our regular budget just to increase the amount we would be putting towards debt repayment! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I want to emphasize that the first step to actually paying off debt and repairing your credit score is deciding that you are ready. I have seen firsthand how a readiness mindset and discipline can help you achieve your goals. There’s something truly inexplicable about prayers, faith, readiness, and working towards your goals. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtC_mrTVLB9NmKnzIIT_TJbFuzvsLqV4B9LP_LEpPdRdWDDf_D-LEM3j1P5Kw4cSW4rejikkhChUPOvj8v51JP6YGI26zzFrpV9eUiAxYlQAucWWH_qj8S61GGdAEK2e-9iBWR8PZVliIs/s1600/creditrepair.com+%25284%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtC_mrTVLB9NmKnzIIT_TJbFuzvsLqV4B9LP_LEpPdRdWDDf_D-LEM3j1P5Kw4cSW4rejikkhChUPOvj8v51JP6YGI26zzFrpV9eUiAxYlQAucWWH_qj8S61GGdAEK2e-9iBWR8PZVliIs/s1600/creditrepair.com+%25284%2529.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After I graduated from nursing school, I looked at my school loans and laughed. After we got married, I thought I was ready to start a life with financial freedom - but I clearly wasn’t. After we had our daughter, I thought I was ready to clear off all debt and do better - but I wasn’t. I had all of these things I wanted to do and achieve in my head, but I wasn’t writing any of it down, making a plan, or actively seeking out resources that could help me achieve my goals. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My husband and I were both transparent with our financial history from the get-go, but with quitting my full-time job to pursue my dreams (a story for another day), and being an influencer trying to build a brand, the fear of the unknown actually held me back from making concrete plans! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used to say so many things like “what is the point in planning when I don’t even know what my income will be”? “When the money comes, I’ll pay off debt please”.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I eventually had to throw fear out the window, and I sat down with my husband to write down a plan with all the “sure money” we knew we would be bringing in (my passive income, my husband’s salary, etc.). We made a budget (very important), and I personally stepped up my hustle mentality because I knew that I needed to make more money to achieve the goals we had set. We prayed about our decision, and I put “pay off debt” on my vision board for the year 2020. Listen to me when I tell you that you have to decide that you are ready. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I want to reiterate how IMPORTANT it is to be fully transparent and discuss your financial goals with your spouse (if you’re married) - actively sitting down to run the numbers together dollar by dollar. If you’re single, do this too! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The second step is to find resources that CAN help you begin your journey. Resources like <a href="https://clvr.li/CRSnapshot1" target="_blank">CreditRepair.com</a>. I know that you are more than a credit score and you desire to do better, but your credit won’t fix itself. You have been doing your best till now, and where has that gotten you?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMLeQfvieb1LiTdn6sxsvn3Ir4aKO_lmLZ5gpuZVNEsCQIkjR-xygx4Mq8Y7R1BeVtcGwRVKv6Ja_eE389OntnFlj3LxFU2WEyqHyQxT5R65pK9T3bN2BG8NQ__Dx2SpZlcbLLV3FrF5Ck/s1600/creditrepair.com+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMLeQfvieb1LiTdn6sxsvn3Ir4aKO_lmLZ5gpuZVNEsCQIkjR-xygx4Mq8Y7R1BeVtcGwRVKv6Ja_eE389OntnFlj3LxFU2WEyqHyQxT5R65pK9T3bN2BG8NQ__Dx2SpZlcbLLV3FrF5Ck/s1600/creditrepair.com+%25282%2529.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
While my husband and I managed to pay off over $24,000 in credit card debt (even in a pandemic - thank you Jesus), I still had things under my credit score that needed fixing. My school loans and all the delinquencies that I racked up over years were still lurking and I needed help to tackle them. I got on a call with a credit service advisor and my journey with <a href="https://clvr.li/CRSnapshot1" target="_blank">CreditRepair.com</a> began. Their website is easy to navigate, and everything is written in plain, understandable English. Listen, everyone, I’m not a financial expert, but I am confident in this journey that I am on and I plan to keep you guys updated. Follow along with my credit journey over the next few months, and stay tuned for an opportunity to start your own credit journey. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Saving and investing are much easier for us now. My husband and I continue to tweak our budget and edit our goals, and we’ve seen firsthand how debt can really hold you back from living your best life. I pray to never return to how I was before I began this journey to financial freedom. If you follow me on Instagram and watch my stories, you’ll know that I have been more vocal about these things. Financial freedom is possible!</div>

Hello world, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Waking up to one terrifying news or the other certainly has a lot of people - myself included - reflecting on life. I find myself praying more and more that I spend my time here on earth fulfilling my purpose and leaving behind a legacy that my father in heaven will be proud of.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyghm-5JJiXLuLf2Urvh7-rXT2dwfOlmo_uTPi1RpJE_l86tA30dy9BXjpcLyMZ7IhulAyqhtoTdFGMNnAOT_necOrww_66ylyvO6oCrPCdcbbBX9FiJWQqqKQ2fLTLUgXMD5O8d23KN2-/s1600/IMG_20200829_111720_431.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyghm-5JJiXLuLf2Urvh7-rXT2dwfOlmo_uTPi1RpJE_l86tA30dy9BXjpcLyMZ7IhulAyqhtoTdFGMNnAOT_necOrww_66ylyvO6oCrPCdcbbBX9FiJWQqqKQ2fLTLUgXMD5O8d23KN2-/s1600/IMG_20200829_111720_431.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If this year has taught us anything, it's the fact that you must go after every dream you've put on hold because a lot can happen in the blink of an eye. Put in the work, start the business, buy the shoes, go on that road trip with your family, call your loved ones, be kind to everyone, and remain dedicated to cutting negativity out of your life.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Are you actively working towards living a purpose driven life?</div>

Thanks for reading, till later, God bless. </div>

Hello world, can we chat for a little bit? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I recently celebrated my 31st birthday and it had me reflecting on life. I know this is common with new age, so I fully immersed myself in my thoughts and allowed myself to FEEL everything I was feeling. Every birthday is special to me - and became even more special after my car accident in 2008. I took my survival to mean that I still had a purpose in this world and I've been trying my hardest to live my life with that in mind. Going for everything I want and being grateful for every day. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghPftsu84oYPz-fxY9Mw0vEJaeVcfwZNY3iZt-VUyNn9MgvExl0hXdzGZqMrUi3TChbY6iNFL7wfhBP00WkvEmVF8-KBobPsk5sQBY3Y4Iwd6s2GvzauCn0rL5gT1-MWUt54vnrrcmEjdT/s1600/Lizzy+o+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1067" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghPftsu84oYPz-fxY9Mw0vEJaeVcfwZNY3iZt-VUyNn9MgvExl0hXdzGZqMrUi3TChbY6iNFL7wfhBP00WkvEmVF8-KBobPsk5sQBY3Y4Iwd6s2GvzauCn0rL5gT1-MWUt54vnrrcmEjdT/s1600/Lizzy+o+%25281%2529.jpg" /></a><br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It still blows my mind when I think back to how I, Lizzy... me, myself and I is now a whole 31 years old. Like WOW. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A wife, a mom, somebody's daughter and an entrepreneur. Ugh, wait... I have a problem with that last word, always have, so I still cringe a little when I use the word, but it is what I am now and that in itself is just MIND BLOWING. An entrepreneur: <i>a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so.</i> Uhh, wait, so maybe I am actually just an influencer with small entrepreneur mindset on the side. LOL</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't know if I've shared this with you guys, but when I was growing up, did you know what my answer was to the popular questions "<i>What do you want to be when you grow up"? </i></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'll tell you. My answer to that question was always "I want to be an amala seller". (Amala is a yoruba meal served hot and yummy with the perfect stew that has a bunch of meat etc on the side... My description does it no justice but I digress). </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I grew up in Nigeria (born in Lagos and moved to the united states in 2004), so I grew up eating amala a lot especially from Bukas (small canteens) and so as a child, my dream was to grow up to become an amala seller - mainly because I loved the meal so much and had dreams to own a restaurant that was TOP CLASS (with AC, tons of workers, better than a small buka and known for having the best amala in town). </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course, when it was time to go to college, amala seller was not a major I could pick or a course I could study, so I went for Nursing instead. Lol. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I graduated college with my Bachelors of Science in nursing and life began. Many years later, here I am as a full time influencer/business woman/entrepreneur! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUCBoaAR6xk_mXKH087FmQ8jljwo7HBpmp_Aq6FXdtv7Oxg82Fd-zzDOefQX4uWCfUsh9tWNr8MXiOPcSk5p4KK1P2IRdlQYAgPxaYRXKxopFSfxK5PM9aRqeYFo1R62LY_UYaz57gsvvW/s1600/The+Lizzy+o+%25281%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1068" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUCBoaAR6xk_mXKH087FmQ8jljwo7HBpmp_Aq6FXdtv7Oxg82Fd-zzDOefQX4uWCfUsh9tWNr8MXiOPcSk5p4KK1P2IRdlQYAgPxaYRXKxopFSfxK5PM9aRqeYFo1R62LY_UYaz57gsvvW/s1600/The+Lizzy+o+%25281%2529.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have learned so much over the years and I know there are more lessons to come. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I figured I'd make this post sort of a list of things I've learned over the years. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<ol>
<li>Always put God first</li>
<li>Write goals, plans and visions down. Write it down (don't care if it's on paper or a phone app, just write it down). A goal without a plan is a wish. Write things down and take action.</li>
<li>Financial freedom is possible. Make budgets, stick to them, pay off debts, take responsibility and do better. </li>
<li>Never get tired of learning. Learn, learn learn. </li>
<li>Rest before your body forces you to.</li>
<li>Health is wealth</li>
<li>Love hard</li>
<li>Cut off all negativity and focus on all the blessings in your life.</li>
<li>Tomorrow isn't promised</li>
<li>Love hard</li>
<li>Be a giver</li>
<li>and so much more... </li>
</ol>
<div>
Well, I think I am losing my touch on writing, so I definitely need to make more blog posts on here. </div>
<div>
Thanks for reading, till later, God Bless. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Hello world!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What’s the first thing you do in the morning? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Personally, after praying, looking over my to-do list, replying emails and let’s be honest - browsing instagram and all socials, the next thing on my mind is breakfast. I know that for a lot of people, they can’t get the day started without a cup of coffee! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Today I am sharing with you guys the new <a href="https://clvr.li/DunkinCereal">Post Dunkin’ Mocha Latte cereal and Post Dunkin’ Caramel Macchiato cereal</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cereal is my number one breakfast choice because it’s quick and easy and this mama needs something quick and easy to start her day! Picture me hiding in one corner of my kitchen rushing through a bowl of cereal before my daughter - Zuri - wakes up. I need all the energy I can get to do all the mom things and focus on work. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm1bmT8hQnfH5AqYxcMpArEyQMJi45DBiEw8XpOumtIaJaum84e-ZTM6qB5eDzcOjkS8Gi7tom7HaWSED_MPwPXYbkoXiFMUIxArFpRLsV_CokXhonOp5Dwd5FyOon-AUlc_EaLXXTZqDp/s1600/final+POst+Cereal-6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm1bmT8hQnfH5AqYxcMpArEyQMJi45DBiEw8XpOumtIaJaum84e-ZTM6qB5eDzcOjkS8Gi7tom7HaWSED_MPwPXYbkoXiFMUIxArFpRLsV_CokXhonOp5Dwd5FyOon-AUlc_EaLXXTZqDp/s1600/final+POst+Cereal-6.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Are you like me and do you love cereal? Also, do you love coffee? Post Consumer Brands and Dunkin’ have brewed up these two new cereals made with Dunkin’ coffee that are rolling out nationwide beginning in August. These new cereals contain very small amounts of caffeine, roughly a 10th of a cup of coffee, so all can indulge in the rich coffee-forward experience. </div>

I was skeptical yet excited to try the two new <a href="https://clvr.li/DunkinCereal">Post Dunkin’ cereals</a>. I LOVE the smell of coffee even though I’m not a huge drinker so you can imagine how pleased I was when I opened up both boxes! The sweet aroma filled up my lungs and that made me excited to know how they would taste. </div>

I was very pleased with how they both tasted and this is now my favorite part of my morning routine. The Post Dunkin’ Mocha Latte cereal turned out to be my favorite of the two but I am interested in knowing what your favorite would be! </div>
