Faith in Action After Spinal Cord Injury

 Hello my people.

The Lie I Almost Believed

The biggest lie I almost believed after my accident was that if I kept living a full life, it meant I did not have faith in God.

Some religious voices even implied that because I was not spending every day “waiting to walk again,” I was not really waiting on God. That belief could have easily trapped me in fear and guilt.

What Faith Really Means

I have learned that faith is not about sitting still. Faith is about trusting God while living fully.

Parenting, working, laughing, traveling, and showing up every day are not signs of disbelief. They are evidence of faith in action. Choosing joy, choosing purpose, and choosing life are all ways of honoring the God who created me.

Scriptures That Anchor Me

God’s Word continues to ground me in this truth:

  • John 10:10 – Jesus came so that we could have life, and have it to the full.

  • Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

  • Jeremiah 29:11 – God’s plans for me are good, filled with hope and a future.

  • 2 Corinthians 12:9 – His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in weakness.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:13 – God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, and He will provide a way out so you can endure.

I have endured, and I keep enduring. Not because I gave up on God, but because He has never given up on me.

Living Fully as a Form of Faith

Living fully is not turning my back on Him. It is proof that I still trust His promises. Every step of my journey with a spinal cord injury has shown me that faith is active, alive, and demonstrated in how we continue to move forward.

Faith is not just waiting for a miracle. Faith is believing that God is working in every moment, even as we build families, pursue dreams, and embrace joy.
