Swatches and Review: Zoya Beach Collection - Summer 2012

Sup Lovely peoples!

The weather has been great around here lately, and I can see summer in the air...
Speaking of Summer... Nothing says Summer like gorgeous bright colors!! And that's exactly what I have for you today. Bright colors!!!

I've got my swatches and review of the Zoya Beach Collection. The Zoya Beach Collection consists of Six bright polishes.
Zoya Summer 2012 - Beach Collection

Please click "Read more" for more Swatches and Review.

The Beach Collection has three polishes that are pink!!! So, I'll talk about the Pinks first, and the other three colors will follow.

No Topcoat was used with these swatches because I try to show you the real finish of each polish. We all know that topcoats makes polishes glossy and blah blah.. so I won't show you that.. lol..
All swatches are two coats each, except otherwise stated.

Let's start with Reagan.
Reagan is the darkest of the pinks in this collection. It's turns purple in some lights, but for the most part, it's considered pink.
This one was almost opaque in One coat, so I think it will be a good one for stamping.

Next we have Lara. She looks soft, feminine, and I love that there's a shine to it that makes it pop!
These are the kinds of pink I tend to gravitate towards, so I'm happy it's part of this collection.

The last of the pinks in this collection is Shelby. Shelby is the baby of all the pinks in this collection. Soft, milky, and sweet! But Please, do not eat this polish. Lol...
Sadly, application wasn't sweet with this one. I had to use 4 coats to even out bald spots, bumps, and some un-even spots. But It was all so worth it. (2 thick coats would suffice with the use of topcoat).
Even my BFF who dislikes pink loved this one and made me do a mani for her with it. :-D She claimed "it's too pretty to be a pink polish". lol...

Well, since we got the pinks out the way... Here are the other colors in this collection.

Arizona is an orange cream with a subtle hint of yellow! Can someone please hand me a glass of orange juice while I lay on a beach bench with Arizona on my nails?!
If there's ever a nail polish to send you into instant "drink on the beach" day-dreaming mode,... Arizona is the polish.:-) I had to use three coats to even it out. But two coats would suffice with the use of a topcoat.

Next is Tracie. She's Green, and almost out of place. Lol... Pretty polish, I'm not crazy about it, but it's a welcomed addition to my stash.
This one showed brush strokes, but I'm sure topcoat will fix that.

And last but not the least, we have what I call the Creme de la Creme of this collection. Why do I call it that you ask? Because, we've all seen pinks and oranges done many times before, but this color...  this color I can honestly say I haven't seen a lot of! I present Wednesday. A lovely blue cream polish.
I don't already have a color like this! It's beautiful, it's unique, and application was lovely! The name is unique, weird, and definitely appropriate. Wednesday is the "hump day of the week". Most people are always tired and ready for Fridays on Wednesday. BUT... If you wear this on your nails every Wednesday, I'm sure you'll get all the energy you need to finish the week on a happy note. Lol.. Ok, I'm getting cheesy now. lol..

And, that's it for all Six of the Polishes in the Beach Collection.
Overall verdict? The Fairies at Zoya have done what they do best again. And that is, make lovely polishes that apply like a dream.

When I review "collections" as a whole, I try to relate with non-polishaholics out there who wear their polishes for more than 2-3 days.
For my "How long will it last" trial, I chose Shelby. I did a mani with it for my BFF who dislikes pink and could care less about nail polishes. Yesterday afternoon, she texted me: "What nail polish did you use on my hand? Cos it's still there and nothing has removed".

First of all... I was like.. Ohh wee baby!!! Just about every nail polish chips on her nails in 24 hours! Secondly, she doesn't like pink, so I thought she would clean off the mani the day after I did it.
But it's been 4 days now, and she still has the mani on.. and apparently it hasn't chipped yet, and she actually loves it!!!
So for today's segment of "Durability", judging by how long my BFF has worn Shelby from this collection, I'll  say ... The BFF approves! It's legit Y'all!!

Okie doks.. Let's round this up...
My Favorites are Shelby, Wednesday, Lara and Arizona.
I don't dislike any of these and I love that the colors in this collection compliment those in the Surf Collection. A great example of this can be seen in the mani I did yesterday, where I used Wednesday and Zuza. You should check it out!

Anyhoooooo..... Are there any Polishes from this collection that you want or already own?
